Swinging Christmas
17.12.2006, The big Red Line Charity Gala.
The enthusiasm of the 700 guests that had gathered in the metropolitan theater in Lippstadt was almost boundless. And each and every one of them got captured by the sound of Swing! Neverending standing ovations and an audience demanding the artists to give multiple encores were just one leading sign: The crowd had a hell of a lot of fun! Song classics from Frank Sinatra to Robbie Williams surely did their magic.
Beforehand, five fantastic singers, a 20-strong big band and many other supporters on stage and backstage have created a 2.5 hour lasting christmas show. It took the audience no more than two songs to warm up - then they started singing along, clicking their fingers and enjoying the night. That much, that even Anna-Maria Zimmermann, well-known celebrity from the TV show „Deutschland sucht den Superstar", was both surprised and thrilled.
And also Cher-Ginger Baratta, Veronika Beljawskaja, Marco Schroeder und Peter Goeke - the other four stars of the night - could not get enough of this somewhat different christmas concert.
Not only we will keep the gala in best memory but first of all the kids in Brasil will. Why? Because the benefits of the event could actually lay the foundation stone for the eagerly awaited new school building!
Thanks a bomb to the involved and the audience for having been there. Keep on swinging!
